Suspected Gunmen Kill Pastor’s Son In Delta Community

 

A pastor’s son, identified as Christopher Nicholas has been shot dead by gunmen suspected to be assassin at Oviri-Ogor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.
It was gathered that Christopher in his 20s was died from bullet wounds at his father’s compound along Oviri-Edjekota-Ogor road, when the armed men chased his father, pastor Nicholas Omoroka into the forest.
A source in the community who spoke on anonymous condition revealed, that Pastor Nicholas was returning from a journey and on getting to the gate of his house, the armed men came from a nearby bush and shot at him.
“The man on sighting the suspected assassins shooting at him, sped off, ran into a bush and escaped from them but his son was not lucky to escape the bullet.
“The son, who was at a friend’s house on hearing the gun shots, jumped into the compound to make inquiry from the assailant and there he was shot on his stomach while they escaped into the forest without any hitches.
“After killing the son, they went into the bush in search of the clergy unhindered for long period of  time but they could not find the man.
“He was rushed and before getting to the hospital, Christopher Nicholas died from the bullet wound.
“The young man who was staying with his father, had build a duplex in another and he was to pack into his new apartment by this October ending before the untimely death.
“The local vigilante in the community could not be contacted during the attack as all efforts made to reach out to them was not successful.” The source revealed.
Efforts to contact the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright was not successful as message sent to him was not replied as at the time of this report.
